Philips mod. D1240 - Medium Wave and FM receiver. Singapore ~1980 Pocket receiver with two frequency bands: Medium Wave and FM. The front end of the FM section used two silicon transistors for high frequency while the transistors for the AM section, the Intermediate Frequencies for AM/FM, and the Audio Amplifier were all incorporated into a single linear Integrated Circuit. The cabinet was made of plastic with the power and volume switch knob on the left front, while the tuning knob was on the right and the frequency indications were visible in two windows, one for AM and the other for FM . The speaker was 8 Ohm impedence and had a diameter of 2.4 inch. The dimensions of the radio were: 3.1 x 5.6 x 1.3 inch (W,H,D) and power was supplied by 3 x 1.5V AA type batteries. © IK3HIA, 2004
Philips mod. D1240 - Ricevitore per Onde Medie e FM - Singapore ~ 1980 Ricevitore tascabile con due bande di frequenza: Onde Medie e FM. Il front end della sezione FM utilizzava due transistor a silicio per alta frequenza mentre i transistor per la sezione AM, le Frequenze Intermedie per AM/FM, e la Bassa Frequenza erano tutti inglobati in un unico Circuito Integrato lineare. Il mobiletto era in plastica con la manopola dell'interruttore di accensione e volume nella parte frontale sinistra, mentre nella destra c'era la manopola della sintonia e le indicazioni delle frequenze erano visibili in due finestrelle, una per AM e l'altra per FM. L'altoparlante era da 8 Ohm di impedenza e aveva il diametro di  6 cm = 2.4 inch. Le dimensioni della radiolina erano: 8 x 14,3 x 3,2 cm (LxAxP) e l'alimentazione era fornita da 3 batterie da 1,5V tipo AA. © IK3HIA, 2004
