Minerva mod. 597/1 "Picnic" - Italia 1960. La Minerva 597/1 era l'erede della 577/1 ma era molto simile al modello precedente e utilizzava lo stesso circuito del tipo supereterodina. La radio copriva la banda delle Onde Medie e utilizzava 7 transistor al germanio: OC44, OC45, OC45, OC71, OC71, OC72, OC72 e un diodo OA79. L'esemplare di 597/1 visibile nelle foto ha il numero seriale 405716 e come nel modello precedente, l'antenna era costituita da una bobina con nucleo sistemata sulla parte alta del coperchio posteriore che una volta chiuso si accoppiava induttivamente al circuito, da uno spezzone di filo e da una linguetta di ottone che si appoggiava a massa. In corrispondenza della bobina e della linguetta, sul coperchio erano presenti due boccole che permettevano di collegare la radio a un'antenna esterna filare. La manopola della sintonia era demoltiplicata ed era collocata sulla parte destra del frontale mentre il controllo del volume era sulla parte superiore sinistra del mobile. Il mobiletto in legno era ricoperto di finta pelle e dotato di maniglia per il trasporto. L'alimentazione era fornita tramite cinque batterie da 1,5V tipo C (mezza torcia o LR14). Nel pannello posteriore c'erano le istruzioni e una lampadina per effettuare il test delle batterie. Le dimensioni erano: 20x14,5x6,5 cm (L,A,P) e il peso era di 1,16 kg. Minerva mod. 597/1 "Picnic" - Italy 1960. The Minerva 597/1 was the heir of the 577/1 but was very similar to the previous model and used the same circuit of the superheterodyne type. The radio covered the Medium Wave band and used 7 germanium transistors: OC44, OC45, OC45, OC71, OC71, OC72, OC72 and an OA79 diode. The 597/1 specimen visible in the photos has the serial number 405716 and as in the previous model, the antenna consisted of a coil with a core placed on the upper part of the rear cover which, when closed, coupled inductively to the circuit, a piece of wire and a brass tab which rested on ground. In correspondence with the coil and the tab, there were two bushings on the cover that allowed the radio to be connected to an external wire antenna. The tuning knob was scaled down and was located on the right side of the front while the volume control was on the upper left side of the cabinet. The wooden cabinet was covered in imitation leather and equipped with a carrying handle. Power was supplied via five 1.5V type C (half torch or LR14) batteries. On the back panel were instructions and a light bulb for testing the batteries. Dimensions was: 7.9 x 5.7 x 2.6 inches and the weight was 2 lb 8.9 oz.
